COVID-19 Cash Grants Updates

Here’s a bit of an update we've had this week from North West Leicestershire District Council on the cash grant pay-outs. Our apologies if your business falls under a different area and we urge you to stay in touch with them. I am sure they to are doing all they can to get funds out to everyone.

By Thursday 9 April, £4.3 million will have been distributed to businesses, with this figure increasing every day. Overall £20m is due to be paid to eligible businesses in North West Leicestershire. The grant schemes are:

The Small Business Grant Fund (£10,000 per eligible business)
The Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant (£10,000 - £25,000 per eligible business).

As the Council did not hold contact details for the smallest businesses which did not pay Business Rates it has been a difficult task contacting them all.  NWLDC identified the businesses potentially eligible for grants by comparing information held on local businesses against the government scheme, with some further checks taking place when contact has been made.

Business owners worried that they might have missed this contact are now being asked  to submit an application online at www.nwleics.gov.uk/businesssupport

To ensure that grants and other financial help are accessed as quickly as possible (if you are an eligible business) it will assist all if you register with North West Leicestershire District Council E-Billing Facility  - see below: https://www.nwleics.gov.uk/pages/myservices

If you need further guidance the Sence Accounting team are on hand to help - call the office on 01530 447999 or email info@senceaccounting.co.uk
